Single sign-on

If your organization already runs an identity provider, your staff can sign in to Traide with it instead of maintaining a separate Traide password.

Traide supports OpenID Connect (OIDC), the standard used by providers such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace and Auth0.

What your team sees

Once SSO is configured for your marketplace, the Traide sign-in page shows your provider as a sign-in option alongside the usual email and password fields. A staff member selects it, authenticates with your provider, and lands in the dashboard already signed in.

Sessions behave exactly as password sessions do. There is no shorter timeout and no repeated re-authentication prompt for SSO users.

New marketplaces signing up can also complete signup through their identity provider rather than setting a password first.

Getting SSO set up

SSO is configured for your marketplace by Traide rather than self-served from the dashboard, because connecting an identity provider involves exchanging credentials and redirect URLs on both sides.

Contact your Traide representative or support@thetraide.com to start. Have ready:

  • Which provider you use and whether you have an existing OIDC application, or need to create one.
  • Who should be able to sign in — typically an assigned group in your provider.
  • Your marketplace's dashboard URL, which forms part of the redirect your provider must allow.

Traide provides the redirect URL to register with your provider, and confirms when the connection is live.

Practical notes

  • Access still comes from Traide permissions. Your identity provider decides who can sign in; what they can then do is governed by the roles and permissions you set in Traide. See How permissions work.
  • Removing someone from your provider stops new sign-ins, but review their Traide staff record too — see Manage staff members.
  • Keep at least one non-SSO operator account that can still sign in with a password. If your provider has an outage, that account is how you get back into your own marketplace.
