Managing product warning notifications
While managing products on the dashboard, you may come across warnings when specific conditions for products in your marketplace are not fulfilled.
These conditions are in place to maintain consistency across products in the marketplace. They also help improve the overall experience when interacting with products via the dashboard or storefront.
Warnings allow the product to be created but will stop it from being published to the storefront and made available to buyers.
The table below lists the warnings you may encounter when creating a product, along with their meaning and guidance on how to resolve them.
| Notification | Description | Fix |
|---|---|---|
CATEGORY IS REQUIRED TO PUBLISH THE PRODUCT | You've created a product but you're yet to assign it to a category (or subcategory). | Edit your product, assign your product to an existing category, then save your work. |
PROVIDE VALUES TO THE REQUIRED PRODUCT ATTRIBUTES TO PUBLISH THE PRODUCT | Your product has required attributes that need values selected for them. | When editing your product, you must either assign values to all required attributes or change the attribute settings to make them optional. |
AT LEAST ONE VARIANT MUST BE CREATED TO PUBLISH THE PRODUCT | You've created a product but you're yet to add any variants to the product. | Variants represent the specific versions of a product that buyers choose, add to their carts, and purchase. When creating a product, be sure to include at least one variant. |
