Create attributes
On the Attributes page, you'll find a complete list of all your attributes. The list is presented in columns, providing essential attribute parameters, such as the attribute label, input type, and visibility to sellers and buyers.
Create an attribute

In the dashboard, navigate to Products -> Settings.

Select Attributes.

Select Create attribute.

In the Attribute details section, input the attribute's name.

In the Attribute type section:
- Select the attribute input type. Choosing any of the following input types will require you to enter one or more values as options for the selected type:
- Dropdown
- Multi-select
- If the Values section appears, enter a name for each value. You can add as many values as needed.
- Toggle the Lock the list of values option on if you want to lock the list of values. Locking the list prevents sellers from adding or removing their own values for an attribute, requiring them to use only those defined by the marketplace operator.
- Select the attribute input type. Choosing any of the following input types will require you to enter one or more values as options for the selected type:

Toggle the Make the attribute a mandatory field option on if you want the attribute to be a mandatory field.

In the Storefront properties section:
- Enable the Show in product filters option to display this attribute as a filter in your storefront. When turned on, customers will be able to filter products using this attribute.
- Input a number to determine the attribute's position in the order of attributes within the product filter list on your storefront. Lower numbers indicate higher placement, with 0 being the lowest possible value.
- Turn on the Show in product details option to display the attribute in the Product details section of a product on your storefront. When enabled, the attribute will be visible on the product page; if disabled, it will not be shown in that section.

In the Dashboard properties section:
- Enable the Add to column options setting to allow staff members to add this attribute as a column on the product listing page in the dashboard. When turned on, the attribute becomes available as a column option.
- Turn on the Use for filtering option to allow the attribute's values to be used as filters when the attribute is added as a column in the dashboard's product listing page.
When an attribute is used as a variant attribute, it will still appear as a product option in the storefront even if the Show in product details option is disabled.
Add metadata
Once an attribute is created, you can add both public and private metadata. This allows you to store additional information related to the attribute.
- Select an attribute and navigate to the Metadata or Private Metadata section.
- To add public or private metadata, select the Add metadata button.
- Enter a custom key : value pair that reflects the metadata you want to add.
- Save your changes when you are done.
Edit an attribute
- In the dashboard, navigate to Products -> Settings.
- Select Attributes.
- Select an attribute.
- Make your preferred changes.
- Select Save.
Delete an attribute
- In the dashboard, navigate to Products -> Settings.
- Select Attributes.
- Select an attribute.
- Select Delete. Confirm by selecting Delete.
Make sure to delete attributes with caution. There may be dependent product templates related to them. Inspect the existing dependencies before continuing.
